E-learning day Thursday, Jan. 5
Wednesday, January 4, 2023 6:00 PM

Due to expected continued snowfall and poor road conditions, students will again receive instruction at home tomorrow, Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023. All MPS students should remain home for e-learning.

All MPS-sponsored programs will be closed, including Minneapolis Kids, community education and adult education classes, early childhood programs, athletics and all other activities and events.

You will receive communication from your school and/or teacher about school start and end times, when teachers will be available to communicate with students and e-learning activities. You can also check your school website or online platform for more information. Please see this MPS webpage for more information on getting set up for e-learning. Additional support can be found on the e-learning page on The Source.

We understand some students were having trouble connecting to their home internet and believe this is because some devices were not checked out properly. To remedy the problem, IT Services has temporarily turned this restriction off and students should be able to connect now.

Making the decision to keep students home is never an easy one. Weather and temperature projections are considered, as well as current and predicted road conditions. With this volume of snow, it takes time to sufficiently clear streets to allow buses to get where they need to go, and alleys to allow residents to get out of their garages.

Thank you for your patience and support as we navigate the ever-changing winter weather and city living.
