To make sure our students are achieving, the Minneapolis Public Schools needs your help. Two-thirds of our students live in poverty. Twenty-five percent of our students are learning English. Your donations of time, supplies or money can help us move our students ahead farther, faster.
Our non-profit partner, Achieve Twin Cities, accepts contributions on behalf of our district for MPS schools and departments in the form of cash, stock, memorials and other options. Each year, approximately 8,000 individuals - including parents, city workers, business people, retirees and college students - share their time and talents by volunteering thousands of hours in our schools. Visit VolunteerMPS to learn more.
There is often a waiting list for woodwind, brass, percussion and string instruments for students at individual schools. Due to a limited budget, we cannot accept the donation of any instruments that require repair. If you are interested in donating a band or orchestra instrument, we can only accept if:
Currently MPS is accepting new or like new (under five years of age) piano or Yamaha clavinova donations. The transportation of the piano or clavinova must also be included as part of the donation. Donations of used pianos (older than five years) are not being accepted at this time.

After your donation has been accepted, you will receive a letter of acknowledgment that may be used for tax purposes.
